See, aren't these nice?
Sunburn. This is a song from their very first album. I like this song but I wish they played Cave instead. They've been playing it recently in Europe and I was hope they would for us Singaporean fans. Furthermore, they played Sunburn back in 2007 already.
Helsinki Jam. As the name implies, it is a jam by Dom & Chris (Drum & Bass). Watching this on youtube does not do this jam any justice. None whatsoever. The bass riff is extremely good. Just like the Hysteria bass intro, the bass lines of this jam is a testament to his ability.
Matt Bellamy may be the charismatic lead singer/guitarist who gets more attention but Chris & Dom proved here that this is no one-man band.
Undisclosed Desires. This is when the visual orgasm begins. We were told by the organisers that there'll be plenty of lasers. And I was eager to see it since there weren't any prior to this song.
This ain't definitive Muse song. It's one of those songs where the band goes experimental and tries something new. Matt plays a keytar here. And he does it better than that The Click Five dude.
And since I'm not a huge fan of this song, I spent plenty of time taking pictures or recording videos.
The next two pictures are what I would call, the tip of the iceberg. These pics do not do any justice to the visual orgasm. If you look to the back of the stadium, it looks even nicer. I think you'd have to be far from the stage (seated) to completely see the visuals. Regardless, it was still amazing despite being very near the stage. These ain't ordinary spotlights by the way. MK Ultra. Whoa. They didn't play this song when they started touring. But based on fan feedback, they did. If memory serves me right, Matt said that this song is tough to play and sing at the same time. He's definitely right.
This song once again proves that Muse sounds better than on CD. They should just play their new songs live and record it for their album.
Starlight. Like Undisclosed Desires, this is another song for which I'm not a huuge fan. But there's something about it this time that made me enjoy it thoroughly. This is another song in which there were lasers. And even better if you ask me!
Matt walked off the mic and let the crowd sing the first chorus.
Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations Hearing 11,000 people singing this is epic. Lets not forget the
clapping part at the beginning of the song.
Ok, here are even better pictures.
This is the best picture I took at the concert. This, does some justice to the beautiful looking laser-fest and visuals. This is what I meant by lasers! Damn cool if you ask me.
Time is Running Out. Aaah. This is a song that they must play. Definitely a crowd pleaser. The chorus really keeps the crowd on their feet. Everyone was jumping in rhythm with it.
Shikin, Afiq and I had our arms on each other's shoulders and jumping together. One of the highlights of this concert. Isa was missing. Lol.
No pictures during this song. I was busy enjoying myself.
Unnatural Selection. One of the better tracks from their latest album. I think they played this song really really well. They exceeded my expectations with this song. The ending Metallica-esque riff was a great way to end the song.
They'll laugh as they watch us fall The lucky don't care at all No chance for fate It's unnatural selection I want the truth And then they walked off stage. This is the part where the crowd cheers for an encore. They came back out really fast.
In truth, the encore thing is just part of the show. Every band does that. They walk off for a few minutes and come back with a few more songs to end the show.
Exogenesis Symphony Pt.1 (Overture). Their latest album consists of a 3-part symphony. They only played the first part. I was impressed. I thought it'd be a boring performance.
There's no better way to start the encore.
Plug in Baby. Ah yes you can't have a Muse concert without this song. The crowd went nuts when the opening riff was played. Everyone sang along to the tune of the opening riff. Back in December 2005, Afiq and I were obsessed with this song.
My plug in baby Crucifies my enemies When I'm tired of giving, whoa My plug in baby In unbroken virgin realities Is tired of living oooh Huge white balloons were released at the end of the song. I knew the balloons would come but I was distracted by Matt Bellamy playing the outro riff with the guitar at the back of his head.

I think these two pictures turned out really well.
Knights of Cydonia. And now for the epic closer. It began with a cover of Ennio Morricone's Man With a Harmonica. A epic way to introduce an equally epic song. I was looking forward to this song all night. And it delivered.
So how do I conclude such an amazing show?
It was definitely better than the 2007 show at Fort Canning Park. The entire production is much better this time. The large screens with nice visuals compliment the songs really well. Not forgetting the lasers which I mentioned repeatedly.
Prior to the show, I expected a boring setlist which consists mainly hits. The setlist could have been better with songs like Citizen Erased or more from their Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz album for example. Nevertheless, each song played was crisp and perfect so no complains there.
Muse has received countless Best Live Band awards and that night, they showed 11,000 people why they deserve every single one of them. For them, 11,00 people is a small crowd juxtaposed to the 90,000 people they played to during their 2007 Wembley Stadium concert but they still gave us our money's worth.
I paid $161 for the ticket and I'd gladly pay more. They obviously put in effort into making the show look good.
I enjoyed every minute of it. Undeniably the best night of my life. They played for an hour and forty minutes. I bought the tickets the moment it went on sale back on 16th November. I have been looking forward to this for two and a half months. The wait was worth it and they exceeded my expectations.
I knew they'd be amazing, but they were beyond that. They gave us so much, and then some.
The evening started off on the wrong note since I arrived late (no thanks to FYP) and I expected a mediocre experience. I was wrong. By God's miracle, I managed to make my way forward during the opening acts (whom i didn't really care about) and find Shikin, Afiq and Isa.
I'm also glad that the pictures and videos I took turned out pretty good. I didn't see the need to bring my DSLR. It would be pointless anyway. Why do some people care so much about taking extremely nice pictures? If you want nice pictures, just go to the band's website and there'll be plenty. I'm there to have a good time thus, I only took pictures or videos during the
less exciting parts.
These are my three favourite pictures.

Group photos.

Right after Knights of Cydonia!

Goodbye Muse. See you again, I hope.
By the end of the show, my t-shirt was soaking wet, my back was aching and I couldn't feel my legs. I think I literally ran a marathon in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. It was all worthwhile. Best night of my life.
For those who weren't there, I must stress that you missed out on the best concert in Singapore. Muse is a band with pure talent, no gimmicks and definitely not a trend.
